Did you hear the news? Private Education is awesome!

The purpose of the event is to inform our local community about alternatives to public education and to help people find an educational best fit for their children. Each of the schools will have representatives available to talk with parents and information for them to take home. In addition, there will be presentations regarding the following topics:

• What are the benefits of going to a private school?
• What are the resources and networks available for homeschooling?
• How can we afford private school?

As of now, the schools involved in the open house include Afton Christian School, C.F. Richards Christian School, Fishburne Military School, Grace Christian School, Stuart Hall School, Raw Learning, Ridgeview Christian School, and Staunton Montessori. As other schools commit this list will be updated.

An area survey conducted by the Percept Group for the Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church showed that one of parents’ top concerns is the education of our children. When the community services committee of the church examined the results of the survey they wanted to help meet this need. The committee approached the principal of C.F. Richards Christian School, Jennifer Hackley, and after some brainstorming and research; the idea for the open house was generated.

In addition to the schools present at the open house, sponsors of the event include the Frontier Culture Museum, Sheetz, Staples, Augusta Sign Company and the Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church.
